Quite the weekend so far.
Saturday Emily and I participated in the Trinity River Clean-up hosted by Dallas Down River Club. This year Em and I kayaked UP the river from McKinnish Park, Carollton TX. We were surprised that the river was much cleaner this year as compared to last year. We did manage to fill our supersized garbage bags to the top. Enjoyed helping out for 3 hours. We avoided a wasp nest, a snake and a few spiders. Next week: THE TRINITY CHALLENGE RACE. oh yeah! We are READY!
Also found a kayak on Craigslist that caught my eye. Got a great deal on a Wilderness Tarpon 140 Angler sit on top. Fully rigged for fishing and has a weight capacity of 375#. hmmm. Guess that gives plenty of room for all the fish that can be hauled aboard. hehe.
Monday checking out another couple of kayaks for sale. Just getting my "stable" ready for Kayak Instruction in WF. :)

Ruth...don't forget about the water behind our homes here in Tanglewood. I think it would be a great place for beginners(like me) to be able to set in. We're on the verge of getting the new pump up and working so that we can add more water. Been a big fight with the city, but we're almost there. Come over some day and take a looku and see if it would be a possibility,

Great Idea! I would never have thought of that "lake". Guess I figured it was a private lake. I will give you a call when I get back today from my "kayak hunt".

Ruth....why don't you come over on Wednesday? I may have spoken too soon, though. Bernie feels like its too shallow for paddling right now. We have established a Lakeowners association and we're just about ready to install a pump to bring some more water in. We have had approval from the state for over 30 years to do this, but no one has successfully completed the project. Hopefully, this group is gonna git'er done. So, let me know if you want to come over, and well see if it's feasible for us to use at its current level.
